Jonathan J. Somerstein, an attorney and real estate professional is a foreclosure, banking and real estate law specialist, focusing on loss mitigation, real estate and debt settlement. Growing out of his firm's focus on banking and real estate law, Mr. Somerstein founded U.S. Modification Corp., a boutique consulting and servicing firm to focus specifically on assisting those homeowners who have been burdened with personal and financial distress and are being forced from their homes. Mr. Somerstein has represented both homeowners and banks in the negotiation of mortgage workouts, foreclosure and general debt settlement giving him a broad perspective in the workout process. Mr. Somerstein's background in real estate and litigation and negotiation have made him most successful in consumer protection and securing mortgage modification, foreclosure workouts and debt settlement. A lawyer and an economist, Mr. Somerstein recevied his degree in Economics from Vassar College in 1989 and his law degree from the Hofstra University School of Law in 1992. He is a member of both the New York and New Jersey Bar.
